Brittle Star eating my Zenia

I was looking in my tank and noticed that a frag of my zenia was missing. upon further inspection in realized that my brittle star is now eating it. I am assuming that the frag fell to the bottom of the tank. The brittle star stays at the bottom of the tank and the zenia was at the top. The lights were on when i left also leading me to believe that the zenia fell because the brittle star never comes out very far when the lights are on. Has anyone ever seen anything like this and is this thing gonna eat any more of my corals once it gets a taste for it. I also still have some more zenia in there, if he only targets zenia. I will take him out of my tank if this is gonna be a continuing problem. He has never bothered any other corals that i know of, and he is a tiger striped brittle. I have had him for well over a year and this is the first problem i have ever had from him.

I have not heard of this, but my brittle star has a taste for snails. I watched him catch and take one under the rock with him one night. Mine is about 10"-12", and I probably will not ever get another if something happens to him.

Get a pellet gun and get that guy out of there. :-) I've got some low velocity pellets you can use, but only if I can watch.
Actually, that’s a new one on me. I'm curious to see what you come up with. Good luck and I hope he doesn't have a big appetite!

when the brittle stars get big enough they will start eating small fish also, so i have been told on several occasions

I used to have a green brittle star, and he ate a stalk of my xenia, then he ate 2 frags of my colt.

Notice I said I USED TO have a green brittle star.....

Well, he has not messed with anything else so i am hoping he was just drunk and looking for a fight. lol. I think i had just dosed some vodka. I have heard of green brittles doing that, but not tiger brittles.
