There is alot of info in the forum already about this so i apologize in advanced. :deadhorse: There seems to be just so much vary opinion regarding these stars that I want the most recent information/experience as possible. Can anyone describe in a nutshell the difference between the two. I read the major difference is the amount/size of the spines on the legs. Also wanted to know temperament of the 2, with the exception of the green brittle star which is a known exception. I have a tank with both of them mixed together and I want to add them to other tanks but don't want to do anything stupid.

i thought all serpent stars and brittle stars were safe and peaceful except for that one green mean one

Wow speaking of Serpent stars/brittle stars today I was looking in our tank when I spotted something very peculiar. Our black sea urchin was carrying a friend. :eek:Upon looking closer I realized it was a type of brittle star/serpent star but I am not sure exactly which one it might be? He is so tiny right now but it looks as if riding on the sea urchin is helping him get food and not to mention the added protection...no one even comes near the sea urchin. His legs are so long I can not imagine how big he might be eventually...whoa! :eek2::) Is it possible he hitched a ride off of my urchin since I brought him not too long ago or maybe some live rock, idk? He has red legs and a little white spot in the middle of his body. Im not sure if he hs a spot because he is young and will grow out of it or if thats a trait associated with the species of star he is but I can NOT find any pictures of grown stars with white center spots???? :( Any help is appreciated! Thanx in advance for the help guys!:wavehand:
