Here is an email a got from my wife today. She's taking care of the tank for the next year while I train and deploy to Afghanistan.
You have only been gone a few days and already the tank is punishing me.
It's not the worst thing that can happen, but it's still terribly inconvenient.
I came home from work today to a funny noise coming from the tank. Further investigation revealed the frag nano clamp thing holding it in place broke off from the magnet. The nano, no longer held in place, rotated so that instead of water flowing out of it horizontally, it was flowing up vertically (and all over the floor -- there was a nice puddle waiting for me).
So can I order a new clamp thing? I looked at it and I don't think it is fixable... I may be able to get creative so the pump will stay in place for now, but give me a heads up on what I need to do.
Don't worry, all is well in the tank other than that.
Grrrr.
This is the fourth broken bracket I've had to replace since I bought these pumps about 1.5 years ago. I have two 6045s and a 6025. The tabs holding the bracket to the magnet broke off on this latest one but the bracket itself broke on the first three.
Have the new and improved brackets come out yet and how do you tell the difference? All of the replacements I have received in the past look the same.
I'm not going to lie, I have had more issues with these pumps than probably any other piece of equipment in my tank (broken brackets, worn washers and impellers, broken pins, running backwards, etc.) However, I would never get rid of them or use anything else other than Tunze for the pure fact that the customer service is second to none.
Roger,
I PM'd you my address again for for replacements
Thanks,
