Broken Bubble Mahus T-01 Question, please advise!

I purchased this dosing pump just under two years ago and have been very happy with its performance. My only issue with it has been that sometimes I would have to reposition the power cord (where it connects to the pump in the back) just so, or it wouldn't turn on. Today I was cleaning up some power cords under the tank and unplugged the pump and now I can't turn it back on. It's a little 12 volt male port and I can't see anything externally awry. . So:
1. Do I open it and try to diagnose and fix it? I'll void the warranty if I do, but the warranty is only good for 12 months and I've owned it for 2 years. So do I lose anything by opening it up?
2. Do I need to manually dose in the meantime to prevent an alk swing? I kind of already know the answer to this but I really don't want to have to go back to manually dosing.
3. Do you know what the likely cause is?
Thanks
-Andy

At the risk of being brash, don't count on post warranty support. I have a board that needs to be replaced and I can't get an email back from them.

Likely the cable got tugged on and a connector popped loose or a solder joint broke. Both easy fixes. Cut the sticker and open it up!

I emailed Seaside aquatics today and they said no post-warranty support and that the problem hasn't been reported commonly. He also said he'd send me out an extra cord. I thought that was nice and the response was prompt. I'll open it up tomorrow and take a look!

Hi Andy I just bought a new bubble mahus this week, I have not set it up yet as I am off to Florida on Sunday for two weeks, as you have yours up and running I would really appreciate some help setting up mine as the instructions are poor and would hate to screw things up I live in Orchard Park not to far from you,Pm me if you would be willing to help and I will drop you a line when I get back from Florida. THANKS [ Norm ]

Norm, I'm happy to help. I'll shoot you a pm later tonight.

I took the doser apart today and examined its innards. I couldn't find anything wrong (loose, burned, broken). I borrowed a similar cord from some leg shaving thing from my girlfriend and, voila! Back to life. So, the fault seems to lie with the power cord. I'm happy to be saving some $. After stealing a kitchen spoon to stir some saltwater and a cooking thermometer to verify tank temperature, I'm pretty sure the lady of the house is not going to be thrilled with me borrowing her power cord. Looks like I'm planning a date night!
