Broken Driver Power Connector

Conceyted

Yesterday we moved our 90 gallon reef to a new apartment. Upon disassembling the equipment, I tried unplugging the 6100's from the drivers. One of the plugs was stubborn and the amount of force it took to remove it from the drive unit also broke off one of the sodered connections inside the unit. I opened the unit to discover it broken. the other two were also very frail, and upon a quick movement (side to side) broke off, as well. I now have only one of my 6100's running because of this and I need to look into a replacement. Is this part warrantied? If so, how do I go about getting a replacement? If not, what is the next step I should take in ordering a new one?

thanks,

Do you mean the 3 prong power supply connector socket? That is generally an easy fix, the wire just needs to be resoldered and the socket reglued to the board. I would be happy to do it if that is all that is the problem.

yep, thats the problem, the three prong connector. shoot me an address and I'll send it over. The connector did always seem loose to me, so i was surprised when i opened the box and saw it was sodered. I am surprised nothing happened sooner. When I ordered my tunze's about a year ago from Premiumaquatics.com they sent me one tunze with a silver box and one tunze with a blue box. the blue one is sturdy as can be and solid. connector doesn't move. the silver box is the one that broke and always moved some.

The cover was blue up until last year, the manufacturer could no longer make the blue anodization due to some environmental regulation in Europe. I think they just forgot to glue the connector down.
