Broken frame Biocube 14?

Or maybe not broken but compromised? I have a biocube 14 that is currently empty. I'm thinking of setting it up but I noticed that the bottom frame is a bit loose on the right side, near the back, right under where it joins the black plastic that covers the back part of the tank on the sides. I'm sure a bit of silicone would fix it back down, but I don't know if this leaves the tank's structure compromised at all? It's not broken through the frame, the frame itself is just a bit loose there somehow. It's a 5 year old tank so not new or under warranty. And it has been in the garage for several years. It holds water fine, and it seems like it would be ok....but I hate to take chances with water and livestock.

Any ideas? I'm starting to think my biocubes are cursed. I have a 29 that I had just set up (also about 5 yrs old), and after a few weeks I noticed the stand was bowing a bit due to the "wood" (whatever this stuff is) losing its integrity and starting to come apart at the bottom. It looks a lot like MDF or something that has gotten water in it. I hate that stand anyway, but jeez! Now everything is back in the garage.
