Hi I have had a hammer coral for a few months now and it has been doing great.
My concern is that while donig a complete cleanout, to get rid of a gigantic bristleworm, the hammer got dropped into a bucket and numerous heads came off, not the skeleton. Anyway I put it back in and it stayed retracted for a few days, understandable due to the fact that the tank had been totally changed.
It eventually came back and is doing great again but a small piece has broken off one of the heads. The flesh part is still attached but the is some skeleton attached to it too.
The piece that broke off is not opening up but the rest of the coral is still doing great.
Any ides or opinions? I have tried to attach a couple photos to give perspective on my situation. My lights just came on in my tank so its not fully opened yet. YOu cant see the broken piece very well when it is fully opened so it was now or never... or until the lights went out. Thanks
