Broken Skimmer??

Hello!

I have the sea clone protein skimmer models 100/150 and it sudden stopped working. The motor works, but water does not seem to want to flow through the J piece.
Can any one help? I have no clue what to do.

try taking it apart and cleaning it , that would be the first thing I do. Give it a vinegar bath with 50/50 water and vinegar for a good 2-3 hrs and then put it back together. It does not mean that the motor makes noise that its pumping water so try to take the pump apart and checking the impeller and shaft.

I just did. The impeller and shaft seems fine. it turns, and nothing is broken. I broke it down to the bare minimum to see if just the motor would pump out water and nothing.

does the pump push water when it's not connected to the J tube? if it does, the water should travel through the tube. maybe something's blocking the water intake of the pump. if there's a sponge, it's probably clogged. just my .02.
