Brooklynella question

Just lost a percula clown & royal grama to what I belive to be brooklynella. These were the only fish in my 29g tank w/ live rock & various inverts. They looked fine in the store but showed signs the next day and were both dead by day 4.

Now all I have in the tank are snails, hermits, brittlestar & a tuxedo urchin.

My question is how long can brooklynella survive without a host? I was thinking of leaving the tank fishless for two weeks, is that ok? Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

2 weeks is not long enough. I personally would do at least 6 but would probably go for 8.

No reason to rush it, if it was brooke, its nasty and waiting vs treating can be much better.

The good thing is though, if you QT a new fish or two by the time it is up you main will be ready for them; free and clear of the nasties..
