Brooklynella with no new additions?

I recently had an outbreak of what I believe is brooklynella. It started with 2 small clowns and quickly took their lives. A day later all fish seemed infected lest one blue damsel. My question is where did the infection come from? I haven't added any fish in the last 3-4 months (the two clowns were the last additions). My tank is a relatively new set up but everything had been transferred from another well established tank, with the exception of the clowns that had been in their own 10 gallon tank for the last 3-4 months. I had transferred from a 72 gallon to a 180 approx 3 weeks ago. All corals and fish seemed to be doing fine until earlier this week. Could the Brooklynella have laid dormant that long in the 2 clowns? Here is a pic of what I believe to be Brooklynella infection.

IMO, yes. No expert but I had a pair of B/Ws for just shy of a year and one day after a WC I forgot to plug in my powerheads (I did have a AC70 powerfilter running though). The next morning the male was covered in white slime, had some mucus coming out of his gills and was doing everything he could to stay in the current (once I turned the PHs back on). He did not make it through the day. The female started to show signs a day or two later but I had already up'd feedings to twice a day and started supplementing with garlic and selcon. Fortunately that all cleared up and she is still with me today.

Sorry for your losses.
