Tanks over a yr old, had a bad bropsyis outbreak. Nitrate and phos is just readable on Red sea test kits... all parameters are in line with red sea foundation mix reef guidelines. Used Fluconazole and bropsyis died off. Had a small spot of cyano pop up after treatment.. now bropypsis is coming back... advice needed

These are my mp10s settings, it's back on Reefcrest instead of tidal.

I had a similar issue. I also used fluconazole (what a miracle!!) and it got rid of all of it. However if you have any left at all, it will come back, so from what I've read many people will do a second treatment just to be sure that they got it all, I finished my treatment about 2 weeks ago and I'm planning on repeating it again starting next week, just to be safe.

Oh and bryopsis has nothing to do with a dirty tank or bad water parameters. It's simply an invasive species that can hitchhike on corals and/or rock. And it grows very fast so it's hard to keep up. Fortunately fluconazole is able to rid it without any apparent side effects. It also seems to kill green hair algae, although much slower.

It killed the bropsyis, the first time got cyano after treatment. Read that isn't uncommon. It seems the bropsyis is back, and I've lost all my snails... fish fine, corals fine, except my Rastas, which are being choked by the cyano... going to do a few big water changes this week, get more meds and try again... what a pita. Need to go through my chaeto think that's where the bropsyis came from...

Funny how we started roughly at the same time and are having similar issues...doing fluconazole now and waiting for the results
