frag looks fine a colorful under the lights but you just use white light you can see the algae

funny... typically the rule is coral will not grow on algae and algae will not grow on coral... The only thing I have seen grow on it is dino. That don't look like dino...

yeah i have no idea i guess just wait it out i have no idea but is there anything i should try to do?

I'm having the same issue on a couple of my SPS as well. I was told that there wasn't enough flow and because of that algea was able to grow on the frag since the SPS couple "move around itself" to keep the algea off. Don't know if that is the right answer, but I did move them to stronger flow this weekend so we'll see what happens. I'm following this thread to see any other suggestions.

You still have some polyp extension, which is good, but it's a little retracted. It's tough to tell from the picture, but I think the base of the coral looks distressed as well. Assuming you tested all your parameters and they are all in line, I would look to lighting and flow. Is that Vortech in direct line to the frag rack? Maybe too much "Direct" flow irritating/stripping the flesh of the coral? Did the coral bleach or brown out within the past month? Could be a placement thing depending on what you observed. I would try blowing off the algae with a turkey baster, and move the frag down away from the direct flow of the vortech and maybe towards the bottom. See how it does for a week or two, so you can try to narrow the possible causes. Good Luck.
