brown algae growing on Surf & Turf

Hello All,

brown algae is starting to grow on the lower body tips of my Surf & Turf. Besides trying to use a turkey baster or powerhead, is it advisable to lightly brush this off with a tooth brush? will this harm the coral? All parameters are normal and I did back to back 20 gallon water changes in 150 total volume system.

What's a surf and turf coral?

Its detrius, the coral has died on the tips of your seeing this. Check your water parameters, cause something is cause it to die off. Could be alk is to high as this will cause the tips to burn off.
