Brown Algae Help

Ok so It isnt that much brown algae, but even a little bit is a bit frightening. I am on the back end of the cycle I added my inverts only a day ago. I read up that it is sometimes normal to have a little bit of brown algae in a new tank due to excess nitrates, but I was hoping someone can tell me what I should do differently or if I should be worried. How long should I have lights on during day? On Longer or shorter with brown algae?
