Brown algae issue

HEY GUYS I AM HAVING BAD ALGAE ISSUE, MOSTLY WHEN LIGHTS ARE ON!!!!ANY IDEAS?

New tank syndrome. Expect random algae issues for the next year or so while the tank stabilizes.
Leave the lights off for a couple days...... Then it'll gradually come back again..... patience

Also can be from low flow. but as said earlier. new tank syndrome.

phosphates/nitrates might be a bit high too

I have the same thing going on in my tank. It's been up for just over a month and am getting brown algae. I got some cleaners, am keeping the lights low and monitoring my nitrates/phosphates. It should be short lived.

A diamond Goby or a Tiger Tail Cucumber are great at keeping the sand stirred up. This helps to keep the algae from taking hold.

Yes I doing the same now running lights at 20 perfect for 6 hours....have 10 snails and 5 crabs

I have a fire fish goby and a yellow striped blenny. The blenny dives into the sand bed and makes a mess.

Same here, 2 months....been told the same that it is part of the natural new tank cycle, my emerald eats some and the cerith and turbos put a small dent in it but I mostly sucks it off the rocks with a siphon when I do water changes. The rock underneath is turning green now which I have also been told is part of the cycle and then I should hopefully get some coraline going after that.

All you can do is keep your parameters where they should be, suck as much out as possible during changes and keep that skimmer running.
