brown algea id

Fellow reefers,
I need some help with an id for these pics. I have tried other forums here and searched the internet to no avail. The tank is six months old . I never had hair algae or cyano. I am doing 25% bi/weekly (weekly now) water changes ro/di from day 1 and have added a phosphate remover, from info that I have read here I have a remora pro skimmer that is working fine and about 1200 gph in a 55gal with about 80 pounds of live rock. I have read as much as I can here and I consistently learn every time but I cannot seem to get a pos id on this brown stuff. I have had great coralline growth but it has seemed to have come to a stand still, visually and by a drop in required additives. (cal and baking soda). My bio load is 1 yellow tang, algae blenny one small false purc and a small yellow damsel. I have 9 turbo snails and about 30 stominella? snails that I see at night. Mushrooms and such or dividing and overall the tank inhabitants seem to be doing great. The brown stuff is very thin and as it can be seen in the pic with the red circle it has a slight fuzz. It does not come off easily but is spreading slowly to any part of "lighted" live rock that does not have coralline on it. . Any help would be appreciated in regards to what it is and if there is anything else I can do to stop it.
My tank parameters are:
ph 8.2
amm 0
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
phosphate .01
calcium 400
mag 1290
dkh 8.4

I have the same thing. It started out just like yours and now the tank is 1 year old and it has become alittle more leafy. I will try to post a pic tonight. Anyone have any idea how to get rid of this? I was thinking about renting a Dolla Bella Sea Hare from my LFS.

looks like the start to brown wafer algae. i found nothing that
eats it if it is. it took two hurricanes and a combined total of
15 days without power and a dead reeftank to kill it.

Thanks for the replies. I am in the process of putting a sump on my system and adding macro algae and hope to starve it. If it does not clear in a couple of months, I'll cook the rock. Once again thanks for the info.

I have tried to starve it as well with no luck. I have a ton of Chaeto in my fuge and nothing seems to work. I have been able to contain it and it doesn't seem to be out of control. I guess that's the all I can ask for:)

Is it a sponge? of some-sort?have your snails touched it i know my snail's mow down everything Great little mexican turbo snails
