brown and white crocea?

I bought a clam as a maxima at a LFS. The more and more I look at it, I think it might be a crocea. Has anyone ever heard of a brown and white crocea?

I'll see If I can get a decent pic of it

the shell says its a maxima.

the pattern is what was getting me confused.............thanks

So is this a very common clam? I have never seen one like this before, I was almost thinking maybe its on its way out or something.....lol

The black dots around the edge of the mantle are characteristic of a maxima and the shell verifies that it is a maxima.

how large is it? juvenile croceas have scutes on their shells too. it does look like a maxima shell however as it is longer than it is taller.

its maybe about 3.5 inches

I have a brown and gold and whitish crocea its very pretty its about 3.5 inches.
