I have had this green haddoni (carpet anemone) for maybe a little under a month. It is about 16 inches across and looks to be attached under a base rock. For about 2 weeks now it has been expelling little brown ball things and it just sits right around the mouth. i thought it was poop but i know anemones dont poop for weeks on end. I have tried feeding it silversides but it just lets go after a minute or so and does not attempt to close and eat it. Can anybody tell me what are these brown blobs and why the mouth is opened like this? Does This carpet look healthy?

Looks like dead zooxanthellae to me. I wouldn't worry about it. This often happens during the shipping process when they aren't exposed to light. I wouldn't try to feed it either. Since their mouth is the same as their butt, it's either in or out -- and since it's still expelling zooxanthellae, I'd say it's "out only" for a couple more weeks.

Also... the mouth, color, tentacles, and overall shape lead me to believe it's a healthy haddoni.
