Brown hair algae help

Hello all! I am new to this forum and I thought this would be a great place to ask for help. I have had this tank for a few months with no problems and then suddenly I started to get brown hair algae in the tank. I have tested the water and everything is fine. I have attached a picture of the tank and the light settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Much more expertise on here then me but just went through some algae phases and realized that even if water is testing good, doesn't nec mean it's good. I had 0 phosphates but the algae was just consuming it all basically giving me a false reading. I increased water changes, added macro algae in sump, added two more wave makers and about 30 hermit crabs. Crabs mowed it down quick and haven't really had issues since. Also using rodi water.

But I'm only 10 mo in. . . Listen to others on here as they have helped me through many issues.

It's the beginning of your reef. Happens in a lot of tanks and is normal IMO. I had the same thing up until about 6-7 month mark. Be patient and continue tour routine maintenances. It will work itself out.

Hello I bought the tank as a setup and it is two years old. I have not had a problem since about two weeks ago.

Thanks

Okay are you doing routine water changes? What kind of water are you using to do those water changes? What are your feeding habits and how do you feed?

Clean up crew: 8x turbo snails, 4x hermit crabs, 1x urchin. Feeding: Once a day at 5PM using pellets or frozen food. Water Change: once a week 25% water change using RO water.

Thanks!

It is going through a mini cycle. Normal.

Hello I was saying that I have owned it for a few months. The setup is two years old.

From what I read and found, hair algae does not like flowing water so it looks like you only have one wave maker and may want to add another towards bottom left of tank.

"I have tested water and everything is fine"

Can you post those results cause everthing is not fine....

Please confirm no outside light reaches the tank at all.

What I was referring to is that all of the test results came back as good when I took them to my local Maidenhead Aquatics.
