Brown jelly disease.. Dead polyp?

Hi all,

Just started a reef tank about a month now and had a green star polyp in there.

It was doing fine until today when I noticed it was opening up. On closer inspection there was like brown jelly stuff on it.

After a little dogging, I found this could potentially be brown jelly disease so I tried to remove this...(jelly stuff actually moves?!?! [emoji37])

Anyway, my polyp hasn't opened back up and it looks a little different now.

Is it dead now?

Just to add, it's been a few hrs now and I have a good flow around it. Thanks

That is not dead, just closed. BJD is more a bacterial infections that attacks LPS polyps, if you have some slime on a chunk of gsp in a new tank than I would guess Cyanobacteria. If it starts colonizing over the mat than blow it off from time to time.
