Brown jelly disease?

I have been having a problem with my Duncan for 4 or 5 days. He hasn't been fully extending his polyps and generally not looking well. Today I noticed a brown jelly-like growth on his trunk and on one edge of his crown. I looked in my coral books and the thing that it most resembles is brown jelly disease. He may have been injured slightly by my over-active lawn mower blenny.

Based on the recommendations of the books, I gave him a brief (3 min) 8.4 pH distilled fresh water bath followed by a Lugol's bath, but he looks worse than ever. He has drawn completely in and is covered in a white filamentatous slime. I don't have a quarentine tank set up at the moment. I know I should have but you never really think it will happen to you.

I would appreciate any suggestions, possible treatments, words of encouragement, anything.

HELP!

FYI: in case you ever have this problem.

Quick update. Either the fresh water bath or the Lugol's must have worked. The duncan is putting out his polyps this morning for the first time in a week and he looks almost like his old self. I don't know if he is out of the woods yet, but I am certainly encouraged.

Glad to hear it. Brown Jelly is usually the kiss of death for LPS in my experience (only happened once, so I consider myself lucky).

Even though his polyps are out, he has more than they have been in days, he has more brown jelly on his stalk this evening. I siphoned it off, but I'm afraid that he is a goner unless someone knows a miracle cure.
