Brown Jelly or Splitting

Reef Monster
I am not sure what is happening here. Check out this torch coral head. It was two a few weeks ago. Over the course of this week it has receded. If you look closely, u can see the outline of three bulges that are the heads. FWIW, I see it on the skeleton.

This torch coral has split before. When it did, I noticed a similar experience. There was a small mucus around the torch for a few days when it was retracted and then wallah - a new head. Only problem is I see some brown slime near one of the new heads. Have never had brown jelly. In fact, if it is brown jelly I am in a pickle - I have a load of Euphyllia (6 hammer / 1 torch) in my tank so this is either a real dangerous thing or just a freak thing.

Ideas?

OK-after hedging my bet for the sake of the rest of the Euphylia in my tank, I used a turkey baster to suck the mucus/slime off the coral. It is definitely growing a new head. That I am positive of. But the brown slime leads me to believe something else negative may have been happening. I suppose you can't go wrong with a 10 head coral that I bought as 2 heads, especially erring on the side of caution as it pertains to other corals in the tank.

If it's healthy it will be fine. If not, I started the heads demise while containing the disease (if it is one) for the rest of the specimens in the tank.

Thoughts? Again - never seen the brown jelly before (was not poop) so I would appreciate the feedback.
