tank has been up about 2 months and i think ive got my first bloom. brown algea turning to red some rocks even looking like they are turning a Lt. purple. my nitrates are up as well as ammonia. tank has been like this two weeks maybe three water changes help for a day then algee gets worse. several snails have died could this be a cause. i feed every three days i have 3 chromis and a lavander tang. just looking for sugestions do i wait or is there a problem????

I have been having the same problem, ans realized tap water just doesnt does it. I am planning on switching on to RO water at the same time planning to construct a refugium and add controlable macro algae like chaetos which suck on the same nutrients as other microagaes such as diatoms(red/golden algae).

That would be better idea because I just started my refigium like a month ago, now the critters are breeding like a crazy in my macroalgae so they can eat those bad stuffs and more food for my creatures too ;)
