Brown Stuff Growing On LR

I just started my tank a week ago and some brown stuff is starting to cover some of my LR. Is this a normal part of my cycle?

It's called diatoms, very natural. Give it a couple weeks and you can add a cleanup crew of snails and hermits to eat it.

Nerite snails did a great job of ridding my tank of that.

Yes it is perfectly natural as everyone else said. Are you using ro/di water, if not you will have more algae problems. Other problems may also occur with copper piping.
