Hello / Good morning to everyone ...

Early this morning my brother had called me in regards to an issue he was having with his sailfin tang. Small fish about 2 / 3 inches (purchased about 3 months ago), however has been really nipping on his coral.

My brothers tank is much smaller then mine (70 gallons) this was his second fish in the tank.

Now my concern is introducing this fish into my tank with two larger tangs
my brown tang is approx 5 inches and my hippo approx 6 inches. Both fish in general have never been aggressive in the tank (only on one occasion my brown tang was hungry and ate a blood shrimp). Will it be safe for the sailfin to be introduced to my setup. Please be honest as I dont want to cause any harm on the new fish or any of my fish in the tank

here is my setup :)

bowfront 150 gallon
200-300 pounds live rock maybe more
3 koraline jets
eheim 2215
rena fx4
rena fx2 refugium
prizm pro deluxe skimmer
nova extreme pro 600 watts

Hippo Tang
Brown Powder Tang
Clown Fish
Blue Wrasse
Purple Basslet
Lrg sand-sifting goby
2x blood shrimp

bubble coral
mushroom
daisy coral
hammer
clam
(few others I am missing)

I would not add it, The sailfin and the hippo will outgrow your tank. I would not add any more tangs. JMO Plus the sailfin you said is getting the taste for corals. I would let it go. My sailfin grew very fast and very large.

It will eat coral in your tank too. I had a large red sea sailfin that was given to me for my FO tank because it started to eat coral.

Your tank is probably full enough with tangs anyway.

Good luck.
