brown to color sps time frame

reefsahoy

I can see thru you!
if I were to purchase a color acropora or montipora that had turned brown and my tank was perfect in water quality and light spectrum about how long before i could see the corals turn to color? I guess what i'm asking is how long it would take a sps type coral to go from brown to noticeable color given perfect conditions?

really depends on the coral but average you can see change within two weeks slightly and overall change within two months. Giving a coral a week to adjust and then prosper.

I've had corals take several months to finally color up....there are just far to many variables in the equation....

I've had some that have never really colored up, then I have had some that have colored up over a few months, then I had ones there where in my tank and out of water for about 6-8 hours brown out and within a few weeks they started to color up and about a month later they were pretty much back to normal.

I've noticed a difference in as little as 2 weeks. Some are so slow you can only see it in b4 and aft pics sveral monthes apart.
