I recently added some neon green birds nest to my tank and the tips are a bit brown, almost like algae. Also happening on my bird of paradise. Any ideas?
The tip are burning, and the algae is a sure sign to show the tips are dead. What is your Alk in the tank? and where do you have them placed? what kind of lights were they under, and what do you have?

Ah sorry i should have given a bit more info regarding this. The light are AI sol running no optics (given it was a hood retrofit on a RSM250) and running at about 45%. I recently lowered it from 50%.
The alk is sitting around 8 using an Elos test kit. It was a bit lower so i had added a bit of superbuffer from kent each day to get it up a bit in hopes to reduce my pH swings.

question so when the tips get burned and the algae grows you say clip the tips but would the coral grow over the dead spots or will it hinder growth because the algae is there?
