Brownish-Red Algae Growing on Zoa Mat

Well, I've had this issue for a while now and can't seem to figure out the problem. My zoas open well but aren't growing at all any more, and some have a ring of white around the outer edge. They all have this brownish red algae looking stuff that grows only on the zoa mat, not on the polyps and not anywhere else in the tank. I dose 1.2mL of a Vodka, Vinegar and Vitamin C mix of 3tbsp, 1tbsp and 1/16 tsp, respectively. SPS and other corals grow well but the zoas are at a standstill. Here are my tank params:

SG: 1.024
Temp: 78-82
Alk: 8-9 DKH
Calcium: 400-420 ppm
Magnesium: 1400ppm
Nitrates: 2.2ppm
Phosphates: 0.04ppm

Most of the zoas are low under my lighting (in sig). I've tried raising them up and they seem to get the white ring on the outside I've been talking about.

Should I try dipping any of them in Furan or another dip? Will dosing Lugols or something else help?

Thanks in advance. I can also try to get pics.

Update... the brownish red algae stuff is receding, only a little bit left now. I've changed a few things, but I'm fairly certain that adding vinegar to the mix has helped. I added VC a while ago but I haven't changed the dose in about two months. I've been steadily increasing the Vinegar:Vodka ratio and I believe this had the biggest effect.

Thanks for sharing this information. I have had the same issues you are having but haven't found anything that works.
