BRS Clear Mesh

I bought a pair of baby black & white clowns at the frag swap, somewhat against my better judgement because every pair of clowns I get one jumps and becomes fish jerky on the floor. In order to prevent history from repeating itself I am going to add a clear mesh top from BRS. They offer both 1/8" and 1/4" mesh. Does anyone have experience with either and have an opinion on which is better? I am planning to get a Midas blenny at some point as well so I may as well plan ahead.

Not to take a sale from BRS but they offer the same screen frames at home depot. I have bought from both. I can also give you some black quarter inch netting that I use. I think I have some leftover spline too. It doesn't look bad in my opinion. I have used it to make 5 screen tops. The HD does not offer clips for rimless tanks though.

I picked up my 1/4" inch screen from the corner reef.
I picked up the frame from Lowe's; cut and plastidiped it to fit. The plastidip is to cover the metal and comes in a variety of colors.
InTank media sells clips for rimless tanks, technically they are IM replacement clips but they work just fine for my jbj rimless and have 3 different sizes available iirc.

As much as I appreciate the options on where to find supplies for this , my question was whether or not anyone preferred the 1/8" mesh over the 1/4" mesh?

BRS has a video on the use of this screen. I just watched it not to long ago. I know both block some light, but if memory serves me correctly the 1/8 blocked a little less do to the smaller "wall thickness" of the thread. I bought one of their kits (1?8) and haven't had any problems. I also decided if I wanted "jerkey" I want to go the the gas station to get it, and not the fish store :)

I prefer to use the clear mesh but thank you. I hadn't even thought about clips, my cube tank is rimless. Good call!

Hmm, had to look that up real quick. Looks like the 1/8" surprisingly didn't block nearly as much light as they thought it would, but the 1/4" edged it out slightly in most tests. Either way, it's kind of a wash which one you get, so base it on fish size. The 1/4" looks less obtrusive from the top to me.

I use the 1/4 clear from BRS and have really liked it. They give you a ton of extra mesh....I have a massive amount still.
