BRS Doser Mounted Side Ways

Can I mount a BRS doser sideways? I would need to put a drip plate in to protect my electronics in the tray below. But I am running out of room.

Also do they need to be over or under the storage containers? Or does it matter?

I think it would kind of defeat the purpose of a reactor.

When the reactor is in the upright position, the water flows down the sides and up the the canister in the middle through the media.

If you turn it sideways, water will still flow in this same direction, but the media will fall to the bottom(side of the chamber) and the water will flow over it.

I may work, but you will lose a lot of efficiency. At that point, you would be better off just putting a bag in the sump

I said doser not a reactor. as in the two part dsing pumps in the photo I attached...

DOH, sorry about that, I was looking at the open space thinking "reactor" and that you were going to squeeze it in there.

I have never used a doser, but I think it would still work sideways like that.

It will work sideways just fine. Shoot... it'll work upside down, for that matter.

You shouldn't need a drip tray. If you have leaks, you'll have problems keeping it primed, or the output lines filled, so the drips will be the least of your concerns. Wouldn't hurt though, I suppose.

Theoretically, it doesn't matter if the doser is above or below the storage containers. But if they're below, and your incoming line pops off or springs a leak, you have a natural siphon that will drain your storage container. Not good. For that reason, I'd recommend putting the dosers above the storage containers.
