BRS dosing pump not turning off....

My BRS auto top off dosing pump turns off sometimes...then other times it continues to run even though the status update on the controller page says that the outlet is off. I am running an Apex Lite and everything else seems to be running fine...but this is the second time I've been lucky to find the problem before it caused a disaster. What is going on? Why would the pump still be running even when the outlet status states that it is off??

what outlet is it plugged into? can you move it to 4 or 8 to see if it continues to do the same thing ?

Which outlet is the doser on? The triac outlets (1,2,3,5,6,7) can have problems turning off lower wattage equipment. Here's a thread with a possible work around http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1837624

Outlet's 4 and 8 should control the pump a little better for you (if you don't mind the clicking of the switch every time the ATO kicks in)

I have my main pump and my protein skimmer running off of outlets 4 and 8. I suppose since they are running all of the time anyway I would run less of a risk moving one of them to one of the other outlets. The doser pump is currently on outlet #2...so perhaps it is a low enough wattage that it is causing problems?

Depending on the size of your return pump, it should be fine on the triac. I'd swap the doser with the return and leave the skimmer and doser on the switchable outlets. They're probably pulling a lot lower watts than the others.

Switching the outlets seems to have worked. The skimmer seems to work just fine on one of the triac outlets....I moved the top off pump to outlet 4.

How do you like the BRS pump? They seem to be pretty affordable and work just like the others. Don't like to cheap out on things if it is lower quality or has a down side, but they look nice.
