Is anyone interested in an order from BRS? I need a couple of things but there is no rush. Would like to wait to get free shipping?

An upgrade in works for a 75 gallon with a combination of T-5s and LEDs (rock cooking and tank to begin cycling this weekend I hope).

BRS Order

Not sure. As I said I'm in no real hurry, anytime in the next couple of weeks will work for me.

As of right now I have one person who definitely wants to order with me from BRS and one possible. Unless I can get enough to get free shipping it is not worth it to me to order from them, so if you are interested please let me know before Friday evening at 7 pm. I will either be placing the order then or not placing it at all if there is not enough interest.

I hope there are others out there who want to order.

Steve

Just got an email from BRS. They have some stuff on sale for 10% off. I can forward the email to anybody that is interested. (PM me your email address if interested) Oh, yea, the 10% thing is just for today. It expires at midnight today.

If you have three club members that join in on an order, the club will pay the shipping.

Just a reminder that I will be placing an order tomorrow to BRS. Let me know if you want to join the order by 6 pm tomorrow, if you haven't already.

Steve, I need some RO filter replacements. I'll get back with you with a list later today or tomorrow. Thanks for putting this together.

Steve, the "5 Stage Standard Replacement Filter Kit" has all the parts and pieces I want. It's $31.99, not sure how much with our discount. Do you need the money beforehand? I can pick it up at your place since I work close or we can wait until the next meeting.

Needing some carbon here...
Participation in ETRC group buys is a privilege reserved for ETRC members. The money you saved on dues should cover shipping costs.

I think so Joel, but Steve would know for sure.

I was thinking is there anybody else in the club that uses carbon? If you buy from BRS is larger quantities, you can a little better price. It might be a good thing in which the club could invest some money.

LMK, if possible, before we order tonight.:wavehand:

I use carbon some and should use it more. Which should we get? Is lignite okay? Or should I go to the expense of 0.8 ROX? If lignite is acceptable, I could take up to a gallon of that if you or the club was planning to buy the 5 gallon bucket.

I was looking at the ROX Scott. It would be about 50%-60% more expensive than the Lig. or Bit. Not sure it is that much better, but the test that BRS shows on their video makes it look like it is.

I use the ROX. It is good carbon but the particle size is small so if you're filter system can't accommodate small particles it may not be the best choice for you.

Difference is $75 compared to $170 for a 5G bucket. Seems like the ROX would be better, but my filter is a media bag and it would likely leak. I'll pass on the ROX for now -- maybe next order I'll consider something.
