Could you be more specific? Are you referring to Shaving Brush (Penicillus sp.)?
In addition to a deep sand bed, sufficient lighting is need, also calcium suppliments. I have heard Iodine suppliments may be helpful in cultivation of Penicillus, Rhipocephalus, and Acetabularia.
