Brute can safe to use after chlorine bath?

Hello,

I used my brute trash can to do a chlorine bath for the rocks. After I wash and rinse the can it still have the chlorine smell. Is it safe for me to use mix the salt for the tank?

As long as you fill it and possibly use a chlorine neutralizer you should be safe. I'd fill the van with water and add the amount of liquid along with a pump and let it sit overnight. The smell may or may not be there but at least you have peace with the neutralizer.
I know some will leave their rocks out in he sun to bake and dry after a chlorine bath then rinse and put back in the tanks with no issues.

bleach will dissipate on its own when exposed to air...sun will speed up the process. A good rinse with water and let it air dry for a day or two will do the trick

Yes, rinse and let dry in the sun.

Also, vinegar will neutralize it and get the smell out.
