Brute vs Blue Food Container for outdoor ATO

I need an ATO reservoir that is large and will work well for an outdoor application. Originally I planned on one of the blue food grade containers that we all use for mixing stations ect. But I'm worried about light penetration with them. Should that even be a concern, I'm not sure?

I think a Brute trashcan would resist light penetration better but I'm worried about the lid not sealing very tight. Gardener + leaf blower and not to mention my house is surrounded by black widows everywhere, I'd hate to see what dead black widow dosing would do to a reef.

Anyone have an outdoor reservoir? Looking for opinions.

Thanks

Matt

I personally don't like a bit container for ATO. I found the bigger the container the more issues I had with ORP and Temp during the summer. The longer the water sits in the container, the less o2 the more stagnant it is.

My problem is I get stuck working out of town M-F about 1/4 of the year. I could do a smaller container and run a line directly from my RODI with a shutoff float valve. That would probably keep it from getting stagnant.

Thanks for the link! Is the spigot actually plastic made to look copper? I can't tell from the picture. If its actually copper I'm sure its easy to plug up.

It's a plastic one. I got a hose designed for drinking water to control the flow
