I bought two frag rocks several months ago that have become covered with bryopsis (yes I'm sure it's bryopsis and not hair algae). I moved the two infected rocks to the sandbed to keep it from spreading. I've pulled the rocks out three times to manually remove the bryopsis. Within a week, it's back at full force. Fortunately the rest of my tank still looks good.
I'm planning to order some Kents Magnesium to dose to kill the bryopsis. I am concerned about my corals. Is it worth the risk and effort? Or should I just remove these two rocks and try to frag the coral off of them. One rock has a few mushrooms, and the other is covered with Zoanthids.
The rest of my coral include:
Frogspawn, Montipora Plate, Yellow polyps, various Zoanthid, Mushrooms, Ricordia, Cloves, and Leathers
