Forgive me if this is a commonly asked question but I always find throwing around all you guys ideas help make the best results in my tanks. I recently got a frag from a store that I know is Bryopsis, I do have pics but they are from the phone and terrible quality. I have herd that hydrogen peroxide can help with algae on frags, this I am not clued up on so I would like your advice into how best to deal with this and quickly! Its currently on one frag and nowhere els but has developed quickly so I need to act fast.

Thanks again!

Don't use hydrogen peroxide on SPS corals, only softies I think. Best bet is to physically remove as much as you can and keep it away from everything or even better quarantine and frag it. Seahares I think eat the stuff but only after starving them lol.

When I get a frag with any type of algae on it I try and get the majority of with tweesers then dip in revive. Revive seems to kill almost all types of algae.

I'll have to get some revive and try that. I'll upload the pic in a second to show you but its an LPS (forget the name)

It may not be that clear but here it is

Nice!! I picked one of those up from creative aquarium a few months back. Its killed a neighboring acan but I still like it lol. Just pluck the algae with some tweazers or even better remove the coral and place on a new rock or plug/tile

Just remove the coral from the plug and place it a new plug
That is the best you can do

If you remove it manually make sure you do it out side of your display any loose algae will I attach to any other rock and it will spread very very quickly

I have battled bryopsis several times and won each fight. it does reappear from time to time. After hours - days of web surfing I found that the con census treatment was Kent tech-m mag dosing to bring system mag level to 1600 - 1800. I have had luck at 1600. the bryopsis will fade to a white color over a few days then it is gone.
maybe you can get lucky and manually remove the strands from the plug but this stuff roots deep.

tech-m is proven sucessful for me. I raise 100 per day up to 1600 then leave it. water changes will bring it back down but hopefully the bryopsis is gone by then. or dose again. best of luck.

I got a frag from an LFS that knew they had bryopsis and it took down my entire tank. I tried everything and nothing worked. Get rid of the frag ASAP if you ask me!

The only thing that I seem that it work is super glue if you remove it put super glue where it was and it does not came back unfortunately one it is on your rocks there is no way you can do that

I had submerge bryopsis in pure tech-M and still came back

There is a thread by brandonm on the reef discussion board - I think sps are ok if you handle the peroxide dip correctly unless setting has changed
