Bryopsis removal question

I attempt to cure a bryopsis outbreak by dosing with Kent M to raise the magnesium level as discussed in another thread. I expect to take at least one week to raise the level to 1500. Do I prune the bryopsis in the interim or just leave it until it hopefully goes away? Thanks.

no matter what else you do, any pest algae physically removed is that much less that can reproduce.
try to get the base too, won't grow back as easily.
i like a thin siphon tube deal for thin soft stuff like bryopsis. you can usually siphon it right out whilst poking at the base area with the tube. I also sometimes put a folded piece of screen in the sump and run the siphon into that to catch the algae. you can siphon indefinitely this way

Thanks- The bryopsis seems to be "withering" more and more as the Kent M is being dosed. I wasn't sure if I should mess with it before the mag level reached 1500.

I use this method in the past with great success. I left the bryopsis as is until is die off then siphon it out what remain.
