i have two HOB filters in the front clearing things up.and i had to do some rearanging because the foam floats too much but i'll take some pics tonight as i drip my corals. They are doing pritty good in the bucket*lol*hey reefman you favia is nuts. its still expecting to be feed in the bucket. i hasn't even been phased by the week with no light or filtration. just a few powerheads

no its a 75. what i would suggest if you use the great foam is not to use a lot of it just use it to stableize rock. i used marco rock and had to ziptie my LR into it after the fact. what i would have done if i had the money was by all dead liverock ziptie it onto the eggcrate foam it sparingly. the foam floats much more they you would think

How much rinsing did you do to ensure there was no residual chemical on (or from) the foam?

shift n nation i went to home depot and got it i used way too much and had a hard time getting it not to float.

mike put it in the tube and just washed it off. i cures overnight and is really sticky

Home depot in what town ? Are you sure it was the pond/reef/aquarium safe version and not just the wall insulation foam in the yellow/orange can ?

Great stuff foam is what everyone is using. Once it dries it is reef safe. People have also been epoxy coating it so they can stick sand to the foam to hide it. People have said to leave some foam spots if you can ( without it floating ) becuase it is easy to insert plugs into. I've bought all the supplies to do this also, but I've been too busy setting up the tank and room to attempt it.
How time consuming is it?

its not really time consuming just make sure you use gloves and cover the table with something such a a trash bag. you have to use the whole can at a time also. it doesn't stink that much either. The only think i didn't like was like tiggys's tank I tried the resin. it stunk to high heaven cured slowly and didn't hold the sand that well. the coraline will cover the foam anyways.

Next time you use the foam, sprinkle sand and press rubble rock into it while its still wet to give it a realistic look. You can also mold it when it start to harden up.

Its been said in other posts that the foam skins over or it keeps expanding, and the sand doesn't stick well. I can't say for sure b/c I haven't tried doing it that way, but I have worked with the foam before and it does form a skin pretty quickly.
I know all about using the whole can, but it gives me an excuse to go around the basement and fill all the nooks and crannies that the critters and wind like to use. It is truly great stuff.
