BTA and LTA

i have 1 of each, the LTA stayed in its spot for all most 5 weeks, the Green BTA has been circling the same rock pile down near the sand for a about the same amount of time but over the last week has become bolder and is now wandering the entire tank and walking over everyting in its path, also the LTA has decided to recently rampge as well.

i really like them both very very much but i also like MANY other things in my tank as well

1. what is the most susceptible or in most danger of being seriously hurt or killed by either of thier stings? (torch, frogs, hammer, shrooms, zoa's, stag acros, EVERYTHING, etc...)

2. if this continues, any tricks anyone knows the help keep them still? (why does that feel like a stupid question)

2a. i may consider if anyone is interested in some trades for some frags?

(hey Jeff, I KNOW I KNOW you warned me :D )

I dont know if this works or not but I see it in the stores all the time. They use pvc and put the base of the anemones in them. If you do this I would drill a couple holes in it so that it still has water flowing through it.

For sure what out with the powerheads...

Also once the anemone stays or gets to a spot that you like....then feed it directly, very well. Keep feeding it very
well there. If it wonders off, don't feed it directly...
It has worked for me and some other people as to the anemone tends to stay were it's getting feed very well. Not guaranteed to work...but it has worked.

I have an LTA thats been in the very same spot for a very long time. Click on the gallery to see a pic of it. My experience with anemones is that they love a lot of light, so I hope you have strong MH in your system. Also, the LTA do not like a lot of water flow, so keep that in mind. Once they are happy with their location, you will have to work your corals around them because they pack a mean punch. I have had no problems with my frogspawn and bubble, in fact the LTA keeps its tentacles away from these two.

Also, be prepared, LTA's can get very BIG!

Good Luck!

Thanks Guys,

Mel, i was feeding the LTA shiners but it still moved, the BTA only ate it once and has not wanted any since, but i guess i will keep trying

Lester, i do have MH as for the flow they are both screwed cause there's a flow everywhere.

i guess since i wrote this originally there must have been some sense on the LTA's part that it may be on the chopping block because it burried its foot under a rock into the sand, right NEXT TO A JET. as for powerheads i dont have any, only 1 intake for CL and that is well protected.
