BTA and Maroon Clown

From the moment I put my BTA in my tank the clown has went right to him, This is a good thing I know. But my question being. When I feed all of the fish My clown comes out grabs the biggest piece he can find swims back into the BTA and spits it out !! Why does he do that ? Is he trying to feed the BTA or is he trying to save it for later ?? Or what exactly is he doing ?? This is my first Clown and BTA experiance and they are quite the amuzers !!

The clown is trying to feed your BTA, I can typically drop a piece of silverside into my tank and my maroon will drag it to my LTA for consumption. The clown will also groom your BTA, removing sand and debris along with what your nem will regurgitate. They're neat housekeepers

Personally I don't think that it's necessarily "feeding" the bta, but more trying to save it for later inside of his home, which happens to eat it.

AFAIK this behavior isn't observed in the wild, and mine took food into various PVC pipes while in QT. They usually ate this food later.
