BTA and water quality

I have two rainbow bubble tips that lived with nitrates over 100 for a few months while I was battling dinoflagellates. They didn't seem very happy about it, but they lived. They are both much happier that nitrates are back down to normal levels.

Mine lived in 80+ nitrate for a good half year.. i really let that tank go. But he grew massive from the over feeding.

Started dosing vinegar and brought nitrate to 5. His size got even bigger and split

Btas are probably the only anemones that can handle inferior water chemistry. However, I wouldn't just throw it in based upon that. I would suggest doing a big water change to get nitrates down as much as possible, then introduce the anemone. That way when nitrates build up the nem can adjust slowly as the nitrates rise. Building Tolerance so to speak. I would definitely keep a eye out though because with nitrates over 100, if the anemone dies, it will push parameters to a definate tipping point for the rest of the inhabitants. My 2 cents.

ok..thx for feedback.. the issue with tank is that it is way overstocked and I only get to service it every 4-5 weeks. I have already moved fish out based on aggression issues but still too much. I'm pretty open with what my thoughts are and one time when he added even more I almost just walked out. but I did what I could.
