BTA hiding on near overflow wall, attached to glass

anyone have any guesses as to why my BTA is attached to the glass in the corner near my overflow wall? it has been this way for 3 weeks, in that time it dropped off 2 clones (not split) and still sits in this spot nearly at the surface.

I almost want to move it but I know better.

I have never really been all that successful in keeping a BTA from going back to whatever spot it seems to like. Some of mine just seem to crave light and the higher they are the happier they seem to be, sorry that does not help you at all. The longer I leave my MH on the less they come to the top, you could try and slowly lengthen your light period.

I have a GBTA that loves sitting on a PVC return. The flow there is relatively low. It seems to like to touch the surface of the water with it's tentacles. Its not far from where I feed my fish, so I suspect some food makes it's way over there more often than other places. could be why it likes it. It is also far closer to the halide.

It took him a LONG time to find his spot though. He wandered around for weeks, twice coming uncomfortably close to a power head which I was able to shut off before it got on it and sucked in.

My two RBTA's sit in quite high flow areas and are perfectly happy. Mid to lower tank depth, but they still get decent light.

this spot is high up but way out of the way of the light (at least imo) the only flow there is from my GFO reactor which is very little. I spot feed it where ever it goes, sooo. my concern is that when I get a clown that hosts it that its so close to the surface and back that the clown may spook and jump out. If this happens to be my new latz I will have to cry.

here is a picture to give you an idea of where it is. notice on the left the overflow wall and how close it is to the surface. This little space is only 4 inches from the wall to glass.
