BTA lost all of its tentacles

I stopped vinegar dosing and turned down the lights around the same time so I cannot say it improved because of stopping the vinegar dosing. I was dosing around 24ml in a tank, with total water volume around 35 gallons (I know, probably way too much). I was noticing some bacterial bloom in the water column. That and the declining health of the bta made me stop. That's when I read that they can get food from the excess acetate and thought maybe it was being overfed. But I have since started again and iam dosing around 4ml right now, with no I'll effects.

I also dose to keep No3 and Po4 in check.

An update from me - The RBTA has improved to the extent that he is now inflated most of the time and I believe he is on the road to full recovery.

I stopped carbon dosing on Monday, tested today and have undetectable Nitrate/Phosphate which I'm well pleased about. I have some Macro in my DT so maybe I don't need to dose carbon so much, or at all.

The only conclusion I can now draw from my own issue is the lights. I have TMC Aquarays fitted inside my canopy and they are around 3" above the water line, the nem is around a foot below the water line. I was running the one closest to the nem at 50% and he had a white led pretty much directly above him. I turned it down to 15% and now he's on the mend.

m0nkie got it right I believe. Cheers.
