Is it just me or does this bta look like its on its way out? In your picture it looks like the btas tentacles are too short and it looks like there is a hole close to its mouth. I could be wrong, it could be some thing else. Maybe you guys should take a different picture of it. What ever is on it, looks like a hole with a little bit of its guts coming out of the hole.

Don't get me wrong, I love liveaquaria. I just wanted to bring this to your attention.

wicked_NaCl_h2o,

Thank you very much for bringing this concern to our attention. In the photo the anemone does appear to have some of it mesentery filaments showing. Though upon checking on the anemone in its holding container, it appears to be very healthy. As a precaution the specimen has been removed from our site for further observation and we will take a new photo of the anemone for our site when our examination is complete.

wicked_NaCl_h2o,

That's normal for BTAs when they get stressed.... it should be ok.

What you need to be worried about is a gapping mouth and or bleaching which this BTA doesn't have.

Jman, This is what my anemone looked like when I bought it for my 8 month old tank. I bought mine from my LFS. I didn't notice the hole in it untill after I added it to my tank. It took less than a month for it to die and it wouldn't eat any of the fresh sea food I offered it. Regaurdless of what you and I say ..they just said they removed it from their site for futher observation.
