BTA problem

Here is what the BTA looked like when I first got it.

Here is what it looks like now.

Any ideas what might have caused this. I have a maroon clown that seemed pretty rough on it.

Nothing wrong with it.

Its flattening out and stretching its tenticles, probably for more light. It might need a little more food, but it doesn't look stressed in those pictures. Also looks like it may have been on the move as well.

how come you put it in a bucket?

Most bubble tips lose theyre bubbles in captivity. Some have em sometimes after a feeding or a good water change...

Looked fine to me. looked to be growing nicely too

I'd say it's stressed from being put in a bucket.

Seriously, it looks good in all the pictures but the last one.

Just looks like it was trying to take a little walk around the tank and the giant hand of doom came along and plunked it into a blue walled prison! j/t

Seriously though, it looks fine although a little aggravated at being put in a blue prison, still fine and healthy looking. My RBTA only bubbles infrequently and there's no rhyme or reason to when the bubbles appear or don't appear.

I put it in the bucket because I thought it was dying and I heard they release toxins into the water when they die.

No, it's not dying. Please put him back in the tank.
I don't think an anemone releases toxins into the water if it's dying, otherwise a lot of people on this board would have a lot of dead tanks. But if it did die you would have to get the remains out of your tank ASAP because all that dead matter in your tank would pollute the water.

He is back in the tank now and is doing ok....he is still trying to find his spot.

Just be patient with him. He might walk about for a while looking for his happy spot.
As long as his mouth isn't gaping wide open, he doesn't bleach, and he keeps his tentacles he should be fine.

Just wanted to update everyone that helped me. My BTA is doing much better. I guess she finally found "her spot".

He may still walk around a bit later if he changes his mind. When mine was new he settled for a couple of days and I thought to myself that he had found his spot, and then he took off again. Gradually working his way behind the rock pile, up the back glass, around the overflow, and finally stayed put on the glass of the left side of the tank just to irritate me.
I was on pins and needles watching him walk around the overflow.

Your nem looks like a good nem and plenty large enough for your maroon. Maroons can really beat up a nem, so keep a good eye on him and be prepared to separate him from the clown if he becomes too aggressive.

One of the other people around here has a maroon named FeeBee and she pretty much loved a RBTA to death. I can't think of who it is right now, but I know he's around here someplace.
