BTA small anemones?

Compared to some carpets, you could argue they are. However, my BTA before it split was at least a good ten inches across. It also stretched at least 6-8 inches out from under the rock ledge where it's foot was located. Big enough for my 75 gallon tank.

I've seen pics where they've taken over tanks, too.

I had a BTA back in 2003 that got to be 18".
And a nice set up you had back then for it as well. Crazy shallow sump iirc.

I was fairly stocked at the time, but adding other parent lines to the gene pool back then. Can't remember any more, in fact, I thought you might have ended up with one of mine, chideloh's place maybe?

I do still have a few of those 150 ballasts in the fish room ;>)

There are several strains of them. Some grow, otheres stay smallish.
IME, that is not the case, environmental conditions seem to play a greater role in division: if, when, or at all.
