BTA vs Vortech MP40

As you can image the MP40 won the fight. I have removed as much of the nem pieces as I could, changed the filter sock, added 2 cups BRS Rox .08 carbon.

Other than maybe a W/C - anything else I should do/look out for? Corals seem fine at the moment.

The head of my skimmer is totally collapsed though -

oh no.. it sux Brett. I think you are doing the right things. That's why I don't keep BTA anymore. they runs around like crazy...

I had only had it a couple of months. Never did seem to find a place it liked. I think I have too much flow w/ 2 x MP40 in a 90 for it. My clowns never found it either.

I think a carpet will be better. Not the maxi ones, they don't host

Or an LTA they stay on the sand at least. Did you have the foam cover for your MP40?

I presently have a BTA in a 75 with 2 mp40's and I have the foam covers I am hoping that this at least offers a litte protection.

No to the foam covers. I find them ugly and clog too easy.

I'm going nemless from now on.

yea. I cleaned mine yesterday... made a HUGE difference...
