Let me ask you something: is normal for a rose BTA to reduce his (or her?) size to a minimum for half a day and then return to normal?; this is what my rose BTA use to do from time to time (once a week or so) usually in the afternoons or early nights. Besides that, looks great, eats, opens a lot and seems like enjoy his (again . . her?) " partner " (a big marron clown).
Coments please? . . thanks

The polyps cycles of cnidarians can be extreme and often are common.

Other times they imply stress

sometimes they announce an impending fission/split

Often times they are irritated by the clownfish.

If your anemone is young, immature (inthe tank only a few months) or small... the symptom could be the latter.

There is no way for me to tell, my friend, otherwise.

Just look for good color, regular feeding and polyps behavior, etc.

Else consider water quality or removing the clown.

Ciao,

Anthony

My BTA is 7 inches wide so I dont know if this is a small one for a big clown or is OK. Color is OK, use to eat well and looks healthty.
