Any advice for limitting the growth of bubble algae? It used to be a rare thing in my tank, but now is really exploding. Any advice would be appreciated.
Well. The only real cure is manual removal and nutrient control. If you remove the source of the bubble algea food, i.e. excess nutrients. You will limit the growth of the bubble algea. manual removal is the only reliable means of control. Very critters munch on bubble algea. Do a search on controling bubble algea for more info in those critters.
Try to keep your nitrates and phosphates low. Do you use purified water to mix your saltwater and topoff? Certain herbivores will eat valonia / ventricaria such as emerald crabs.
